A Photography Assignment thanks to House of Travel and Cook Islands Tourism.

The South Pacific has been closed to tourists for the last couple of years due to the recent pandemic. An opportunity arose for me to explore the very reasons why this part of the world is loved by so many.

The Cook Islands is a place of great beauty, vibrancy and colour. The local people display a generosity rarely seen when travelling and their pride for their home in the South Pacific adds to what is a truly unique atmosphere.

There is a strong sense of tradition on the islands but that tradition is beginning to blend and immerse itself to the fresh ideas and innovations of the younger generation who are creating new and unique ways of promoting Rarotongan culture to the world.

There is a depth to the Cook Islands that goes far beyond it’s spectacular beaches and beautiful weather. There is an ambience, a sense of calm and reassurance that it is fine to sit back and watch the world unfold in front of you.
